26th May, 2012. Indian Mountain Initiative - Sustainable Mountain Development Summit - II was concluded at
Gangtok, Sikkim. Earlier on 25th May, 2012 the summit was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Mr. K.T. Gyalstan, Hon'ble
Speaker, State Legislative Assembly, Sikkim and the keynote was delivered by the Dr. David Molden, Director General, ICIMOD, Nepal.
This two day summit was focused on three main themes Water, Communities & Forestry, and Mountain Livelihoods followed by
side events i.e. Mountain Cities: Rethinking Mountain Cities and Legislators' Meet on 'Climate Change and the Need for Legislation'.
